As prawn recipes go, this is a style of garlic prawns recipe with the addition of Kapow (holy basil). Thai prawns are often called shrimps, in other countries, Thais call them all prawns (small or big) even lobsters

Make a best prawns and basil stir-fry

Ingredients:

1 pound (about 450g) large prawns, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 red chili, finely chopped (adjust according to your spice preference)

1 bell pepper, thinly sliced

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

1 cup fresh basil leaves

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon fish sauce

1 teaspoon sugar

Salt and pepper to taste

Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions:

Prepare Ingredients:

Clean and devein the prawns.

Mince the garlic, chop the chili, slice the bell pepper, halve the cherry tomatoes, and prepare the basil leaves.

Marinate the Prawns:

In a bowl, combine the prawns with soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, and sugar. Let them marinate for about 15-20 minutes.

Stir-Fry:

Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add minced garlic and chopped chili. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add the marinated prawns and cook until they turn pink and opaque, usually 2-3 minutes.

Add Vegetables:

Stir in the sliced bell pepper and halved cherry tomatoes. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender but still crisp.

Season and Finish:

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Add fresh basil leaves and stir well until the basil is wilted.

Serve:

Remove from heat and serve the prawns and vegetable stir-fry over cooked rice.

Garnish:

Garnish with additional fresh basil leaves before serving, if desired.
