Ingredients you’ll need to make crispy baby corn fry

1 cup corn kernels (fresh or frozen)

2 tablespoons corn flour (cornstarch)

2 tablespoons rice flour

1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)

1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

1/2 teaspoon cumin powder

1/2 teaspoon chaat masala

Salt to taste

Oil for frying

Prepare the Corn:

If you are using fresh corn, remove the kernels from the cob. If using frozen corn, thaw it and pat it dry with a paper towel.

Coat Corn with Dry Ingredients:

In a bowl, combine corn flour, rice flour, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, chaat masala, and salt. Mix well.

Add the corn kernels to the dry mixture and coat them evenly. Ensure that the corn is well coated with the flour mixture.

Fry the Corn:

Heat oil in a pan or deep fryer to 350-375°F (175-190°C).

Once the oil is hot, carefully drop the coated corn kernels into the oil in batches. Fry until they turn golden brown and crispy.

Use a slotted spoon to remove the crispy corn from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.

While the crispy corn is still hot, you can sprinkle additional chaat masala or a pinch of salt and chili powder for extra flavor.

Serve the crispy corn immediately as a snack or appetizer. You can enjoy it on its own or with your favorite dipping sauce.

Optional Additions:

Feel free to experiment with additional seasonings or spices according to your taste preferences. Some people like to add a squeeze of lime or lemon juice for a citrusy kick.

Strain the water completely from corn to avoid the mixture getting lumpy.

Corn may pop out so be at a safe distance incase if you are open cooking it.

Ensure the oil is hot before frying

Shake excess floor so that they do not get separated in oil while frying.
